Wonderful food abounds in Colombia! I am learning so many new things and tasting new dishes!
I had this for dinner a few nights ago. It's two arepas (Colombian version of a tortilla) de chocolo - these were similar to flattened corn muffins. In between them is a piece of cheese, and on top is orange jelly! It was very sweet. And there is the typical glass of hot chocolate that I usually have with breakfast and dinner! It's either that or coffee, so I'll go with the hot choc!

This is a hot dog! It's smaller than U.S. hotdogs, and check out the toppings - ketchup, mustard, and orange jelly! It was just funny. Also a bread cracker that you eat with butter or cream cheese, and the hot choc.
This is sancocho, a typical Colombian soup. This is sancocho de carne (beef), and it also conatins yuca, mazorca (the corn), potato, and plantain. The juice is maracuya - passion fruit! Also una ensalada and a banano.
Thanks for joining!
